  • No accounts with us, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.

  • The only thing the game sends us is a crash report after a crash, kept for 180 days.
  • Steam handles your account, purchases, friends and parties.

Who we are

Aeroenix Studio makes Ascenfell and runs ascenfell.com. For anything about this policy or your data, email contact@aeroenix.io.

This website

ascenfell.com is a plain page with no cookies, analytics, advertising or third-party scripts and fonts. It is hosted on Amazon Web Services (CloudFront and S3). To deliver the page, Amazon processes the technical details of your connection, such as your IP address and browser. We have not turned on visitor logging, so we do not keep a record of your visits.

Playing on Steam

Ascenfell is distributed and played through Steam, run by Valve Corporation. Your Steam account, purchases, friends list, invites, parties and the connections between players are handled by Valve under Steam's privacy policy.

When you play together, the games of the players in your party exchange what the game needs: your Steam name and ID, the hero name and class you picked, your actions and your chat messages. This travels between the players' computers through Steam; we run no game servers and do not receive or store it.

Your settings, hero name and class are saved on your own computer.

Crash reports

If the game crashes, freezes or is closed without exiting properly, it sends us a report the next time you start it. The report contains:

We use reports only to find and fix bugs. They are sent over HTTPS to ascenfell.com and stored with Amazon Web Services in the EU (Stockholm). Only the developers can read them, with a private key. Reports do not include your IP address. Each report is deleted automatically after 180 days. Short technical logs of the report service (the report's id, version and system, no log contents) are kept for 30 days.

We send crash reports because fixing crashes is in the interest of everyone who plays. The game has no in-game switch for them yet; you can ask us at any time to delete your reports.

Emails

If you write to us, for feedback or a bug report, we use your email address and what you send only to answer you and improve the game, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, and to correct or delete it. For crash reports, tell us roughly when the crash happened and the game version, so we can find them. Please don't send passwords or other sensitive information. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Ascenfell is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If what the game or the website collects changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
